The Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster was unveiled at the
2006 LA Auto Show. The Roadster version of the Murcielago
LP640 Coupe benefits from the same aerodynamic and performance
upgrades as its hardtop counterpart.
The more aggressive appearance of the Murcielago LP640 Roadster
over the 'standard' Murcielago
Roadster is achieved with the addition of a more pronounced
front bumper, asymmetrical sideskirts where the right side has
a small air inlet, and on the left is a large vent for the oil
cooler, and a new rear bumper with integrated air diffuser
and centrally positioned single exhaust.
The Interior of the LP640 Roadster, like all Lamborghinis, is
fitted for the driver and offers a redesigned instrument panel
with different display graphics. This includes a new Kenwood
car radio with a 6.5 inch widescreen monitor and reader for
DVD, MP3 and WMA.
The Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster is fitted with a 640,
hence the name, horsepower V12 mated to a six-gear transmission
adapted to the higher performance engine, plus a stronger rear
differential and new half-axles. An e-gear transmission with
a newly tuned thrust mode (acceleration program) is also available
as an option on the LP640 Roadster.
