Lamborghini
unveiled the latest model in their supercar lineup, the Gallardo
Spyder, at the 2005 Frankfurt Auto show, Germany.
The V10-powered Gallardo Spyder boasts an electric powered fabric
roof which stows away neatly beneath the slatted engine cover
in just 20 seconds.
To maintain the Spyder's chassis rigidity, often lost with convertibles,
Lamborghini has strengthed the sills and A-pillars, buffeting
from the wind at high speed is reduced by an electric glass
screen behind the seats.
Using the 520 horsepower engine from the forthcoming Gallardo
SE, Lamborghini claims only 4.3 seconds are needed for the 0-60
sprint, with a top speed of 191 mph.
