The
Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 (the LP refers to the engine positioning,
longitudinale posteriore, the '560' to the engines power output,
and the '4' refers the four-wheel-drive) was unveiled at the
2008 Geneva Motor Show.
Like the LP640 version
of the Murcielago, the LP560-4 is a facelifted version of
Lamborghini's entry-level supercar. The visible changes include
new aerodynamics comprising of new, more aggressive front and
rear bumpers, revised headlights, taillights and rear facia,
and new air inlets just forward of the front wheels.
In the engine bay of the Gallardo LP560-4 anew 5.2 litre V10
engine develops 552 horsepower, 32 more than the Lamborghini
Gallardo SE, and 540 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Despite
the power and torque gains the engine is actually 18% more fuel
efficient than the previous engine.
