The Lotus track car is sold as an all out race car. This fact
is highlighted by the lack of headlights or windscreen on the
car. The Lotus track car concept is sold in either single seat
or two seat configurations with a DIY road legal kit available.
Lotus has made the track car available with either a 190 bhp
naturally aspirated engine or a top spec supercharged
version is available with a 240 bhp output.
The Lotus Elise based track car uses the same extruded
aluminium chassis with weight saving modifications, the front
spoiler is made from plywood. Total weight for the track car
is just 650kgs. Lotus has added driver aids, including servo
assisted brakes as well as traction control and launch control.
Only around 100 Lotus track specials are expected to be produced
each year.
