The Aero 8 is a classically styled roadster produced in Britain
by the Morgan Motor Company.
The characterful little sports car is powered by a BMW sourced
V8 engine and it performance is on a par with some pretty serious
machinery.
When the car was introduced in 2000, it was the first all-new
car from the company since 1948! However in recent years Morgan
have developed a series of new models, including the Aero
Supersports and EvaGT.
The first generation of the Aero 8 was powered by a 4.4 litre
V8 mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. In 2008 the engine was
upgraded to a 4.8 litre unit and an automatic transmission option
was added.
In the looks department the Aero 8 is pretty distinctive to
say the least. The headlights are about the only are which have
come in for criticism from some people - due to their cross-eyed
appearance. However in 2007 Morgan's designers made some changes
and repositioned the headlights.
Unlike the ash wood chassis of the Morgan
Roadster, the Aero 8 has an ultra stiff CAD designed aluminum
alloy chassis specially treated, bonded and riveted together.
