The Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain is a special edition version of the Gallardo which was inspired by the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo racing car.

Unlike the race car, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain is road legal. But the roadgoing car benefits from some of the technology and engineering developed for the racer.

The Blancpain name comes from name of the luxury Swiss watchmaker who are the main sponsors of the race car.

Blancpain is not only intensely involved with the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, but is also official timekeeper for the FIA GT1 World Championship - where Lamborghini cars also compete against other prestigious marques. In July, Lamborghini secured its first win in the newly-formed championship at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, where former Formula One driver Riccardo Zonta and Frank Kechele brought the car home to a first-place finish.

Powering the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain is a 5.2 litre V10 engine which has been tuned to provide 570 horsepower. Basically it's the same engine Lamborghini fitted to the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera. This puts the power-to-weight ratio of the car at only 2.35 kilograms (5.18 lb) per hp. That means the vehicle can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.4 seconds. Top speed is in excess of 199 mph.

The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Blancpain Edition features several visual clues as to its identify. First off there are the eyecatching yellow Blancpain graphics - which adorn the hood, rear bumper, wing, dashboard and door inserts. Then there is the racing derived rear wing, which is coupled with a new engine cover designed to offer greater airflow. The car is also fitted with Skorpius wheels with yellow-painted brake calipers. One striking visual feature that fits perfectly with the matt black paintwork is the carbon-fiber used to make external components, such as the diffuser and mirror casings.

The interior of the Blancpain Edition further reinforces the extremely sporty character of the Gallardo without sacrificing the comfort of the driver and passenger. The entire interior is finished in black Alcantara with yellow accents and visible carbon-fiber. The Blancpain logo is placed on the exterior and also featured on the seats and cockpit in yellow stitching.
