The Renault Megane Renaultsport 250 is a performance variant
of the new Renault Megane.
The Megane Renaultsport 250 is available with two different
chassis options:
- The standard Sport chassis offers the optimal tradeoff between
sports performance and comfort in everyday use.
- The Cup chassis is stiffer and when combined with a limited
slip differential, delivers outstanding on-track performance.
The Mégane Renaultsport 250 also features PerfoHub
- the same independent steering axis front suspension arrangement
that Renault first used on the Mégane Renaultsport 225
in 2004.
Powering the Megane Renaultsport 250 is a 2.0 litre, 16 valve,
turbocharged, four-cylinder engine which develops 250 horsepower
(184kW) at 5,500 rpm, and 340 Nm of torque @ 3,000 rpm. The
power is sent to the front wheels through a six-speed manual
gearbox.
Inside the front seat occupants are met with deeply bolstered
sports seats upholstered in smooth leather. The interior is
also generously equipped with an array of electronic gadgets
and features including; automatic dual-zone climate control,
a hands-free card with automatic door locking as the cardholder
walks away from the vehicle, a high-end 3D Sound system by Arkamys
and a choice of two navigation systems. The Renaultsport Monitor
which is a system inspired by the world of motorsport provides
the driver with information like engine performance, gearchange
warning, lateral acceleration, 0-60 acceleration and lap times.
The vehicle also features ESC (Electronic Skid Control) which
can be switched between three different modes: 'On' (the default
mode), 'Sport' (for less intrusive ESC action) and 'Off' (total
disengagement).
