The production version of the Renault Laguna Coupe is based
on the 2007
concept of the same name. The styling has been somewhat
toned down for the production version but the cars are almost
identical in most areas. The styling of the 2008 Renault Laguna
Coupe is especially pleasing from the rear 3/4 angle where there
is almost a hint of Aston Martin.
Under the sloping bonnet lies a choice of V6 engines. First
is a a brand new V6 dCi clean diesel engine which produces 235hp.
The other is a 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine developing 240hp.
The petrol engine gives the Renault Laguna Coupe a 0-60 mph
time of under 7 seconds. A six-speed automatic transmission
sends the power to the 17" wheels. 18" wheels are
an option.
The 2008 Renault Laguna Coupe features the same four wheel steering
which is on the options list for the Laguna GT sedan. Advantages
of this system include improved stability during high speed
cornering, and increased maneuverability at low speeds.
