The Aprilia RS125 is one of the best 125cc sports bikes produced.
Its features all the components associated with larger capacity
sportbikes. It has a stiff, lightweight aluminium twin beam
frame and swingarm, rear monoshock and upside down forks. The
RS125's engine is of typical two stroke design but is has advanced
features such as water cooling and an electronic exhaust port
control valve improving rideability.
The RS125 has a low and sporty riding position. High footpegs
give clearance for fast cornering and the full fairing hides
the small but potent power plant. Cornering is where the RS125
really shows it's abilities.

Probably the best road going 125cc bike, the Aprilia RS125 is
the learner legal (in 14.6 hp form) equivalent to the Ducati 999 or MV Agusta F4.
High footpegs and a hunched, forward leaning riding position
forces alot of weight onto the wrists making long distances
an uncomfortable, if rewarding activity.
From cold it is best to let the engine idle for 5 - 10 minutes
(bringing the temperature up to 60 degrees C) before letting
rip.
The RS125's high first gear means slipping the clutch is a necessity
up to 15 -20 mph. Power is at its best in the 8,000 - 11,000
range meaning regular shifts are necessary for peak performance.
Handling is immaculate, light and direct with competent suspension
and sharp brakes.
Look for well cared for examples and use top shelf fully synthetic
oil and premium fuel.
