The
Spyker C8 Laviolette LM85 is a limited edition model restricted
to just 24 cars. The LM85 is a mid-engine, two-seat sports car
based on the Spyker C8
Laviolette GT2R race car, but with modifications made for
road use.
The Spyker C8 Laviolette LM85 features a lightweight aluminium
chassis and body. The body has the same orange and silver paintwork
as the race car, instantly marking the LM85 as being something
unique. The Spyker LM85 also features a carbon
fiber rear spoiler, and a prominent GT2 windscreen sticker.
No cost options include an even more radical full Le Mans sticker
set, or a slightly egomaniacal sticker set with the number 85,
the drivers name and their national flag.
Powering the Spyker C8 Laviolette LM85 is an Audi-sourced 4.2
litre V8 which manages to produce 400 horsepower. This is mated
to a 6 speed manual Getrag gearbox driving the rear wheels through
a Drexler limited slip differential.
To bring the Spyker C8 Laviolette LM85 to a halt the car employs
AP Racing 6 piston calipers up front, and 4 piston units at
the rear. The car is also fitted with ABS. The black 19"
wheels have a race-derived, single, central wheel nut.
Inside the Spyker C8 Laviolette LM85 there is very little to
suggest this is a race car inspired model. All the usual luxuries
and fine trim Spyker have become known for are to be found in
abundance. The black leather and Alcantara trim is contrasted
with detailed orange stitching, and highlighted by the liberal
use of bare aluminium. The supportive sports seats are trimmed in the same black leather and orange stitching.
Each car will feature a personalised LM85 serial plaque. Chronoswiss
dials and switches can be installed on request. These are virtually
identical to the Chronoswiss 24Hours Pilot Watch every LM85
buyer will receive.
