The MG F which was introduced in 1995 at the Geneva Motor Show
was intended as a vision of how the MGB may have evolved. The
MG F however had a mid mounted engine positioned to give the
best handling characteristics possible.
The MG F's styling was reminiscent of the MGB, incorporating
the familiar MG grille and rounded headlights. The overall shape
and styling of the MG F was quite appealing during its lifespan
and is still and attractive design to this day.
Power for the MG F came from either a 1.8 litre fuel injected
engine offering 120 horsepower or a 1.8 litre VVC (Variable
Valve Control) engine developing 143 horsepower. The VVC MG
F model also offered power steering, anti-lock brakes and different
alloy wheels as standard. The MG F was superseded by the MG
TF.
