The A4 which was introduced in the later part of 2008 is an
all new version of Audi's popular midsize sedan. Dimension-wise
the B8 version of the Audi A4 has a longer wheelbase and bonnet
as well as a shorter front overhang.
The most powerful engine for the A4, until the next RS4 arrives,
is the 265 horsepower 3.2 litre V6. Four other engine options
are also available.
The 2008 Audi A4 also features a new sports chassis with repositioned
front axle, all new steering and the latest generation quattro
all-wheel-drive system with 40:60 torque split. The new A4 is
also equipped with Audi Drive Select which allows for the tailoring
of throttle, steering and suspension characteristics to suit
driver preferences.
The exterior design of the 2008 Audi A4 is based on the styling
of the Audi A5, the similarity is
highlighted by its impressive coupe-like drag coefficient of
just 0.27. The optional LED strip daytime running lights which
flank the headlights also emphasize the close styling connection.
The S-Line version of the 2008 Audi A4 is distinguished by a
subtle body kit comprising of unique lower grilles around the
driving lights, a metallic colored front spoiler, mild sideskirts,
a subtle rear diffuser, distinctive split-spoke rims and S-Line
bades.
