The 2009 Ducati Streetfighter is the unfaired version of the
Ducati 1098 superbike. The Streetfighter
is powered by the same 1098 cc, 90 degree, L-twin engine developing
155 horsepower @ 9,500 rpm, and 87.5 lb-ft (119 Nm) @ 9,500
rpm. The Desmo, Testastretta Evoluzione engine is fuel injected
by Marelli and exhausts through massive diameter pipes into
twin stacked mufflers.
The purpose-built Trellis frame, huge fork clamps, and longer
swingarm create a chassis geometry special to the Ducati Streetfighter.
While the tank and seat shapes leave no doubt as to the Streetfighter's
roots, it is the upright and commanding riding position that
really starts to shape the character of this ultimate naked.
New, minimalistic controls, instrumentation and headlight design
leave the front looking clean and aggressive.
The "S" spec Ducati Streetfighter features Ohlins
suspension front and rear with lightweight forged Marchesini
wheels. Ducati Traction Control and Ducati Data Analysis are
fitted as standard to the Ducati Streetfighter S.
The Ducati Streetfighter is available in either red or sophisticated
pearl white set against a black frame and subtle graphite grey
10-spoke wheels, the Streetfighter S comes in either red or
midnight black with carbon
fiber front fender and cambelt covers contrasting superbly
against the sophisticated bronze finish of the frame and 5 spoke
Y-design wheels.
