Cagiva Xtra Raptor 2004 # 500 of 1000
It handles as good as it looks, great design with such detail,
it`s one of those bikes you could sit in front of and take your
time enjoying it before riding. Great bike for every day use,
it also performs great on the track even with the street/sport
tires it comes with.
All I changed to mine was the ugly plastic front brake reservoir
for a metallic one and also the original exhaust (it weights
12.2 Kg )for a high mount titanium being a lot lighter (4.8
Kg)and louder.
Best naked bike I`ve owned

Review by: Brian Wong:
Truely a work of art and the design is timeless. I spent many
enjoyable moments marvelling its beauty both before and after
my weekend rides. Riding input from the bike is excellent and
lots of low end torque as expected from a 4-valve V-twin. Another
20 horsepower would put it ahead of the Ducati Monster S4R but the power is remarkable
enough as of now. With the front extension and slant headlights,
the bike seems to deflect wind well up to 160 Km/h, a rare treat
coming from a naked streetfighter, but at 180 Km/h, the long
haul comfort is compromised.
However, I have two complaints after purchase. Firstly the Xtra-Raptor
1000 misfires, which the dealer was only able to minimize. E-mails
to MV Agusta were not entertained as they maintained that the
dealer would solve the problem. Eventually, MV sent some parts
to my dealer and are currently replaced and being tested. Secondly
the fork clamps for the steering damper cracked at the pin locations
and it appears to be a manufacturing or material defect. I concluded
this because the other two new bikes in the showroom have the
same problem. I fear that even after replacement, the same would
occur over time. I hope Cagiva has revised this component.
