When it was introduced, the Ducati Monster S4R was the top of
the range Monster - the most powerful, highest-performance Monster
ever.
It's powered by a 996 cc superbike engine stuffed inside a lightweight
superbike-derived trellis
frame.
Add to that a set of Showa fully adjustable front forks and
a fully adjustable Showa rear shock and you've pretty much got
yourself a Monster S4R.
A gorgeous "two into one into two" exhaust was designed
for the Monster S4R and it provides a beautiful noise.
The 996 cc, liquid-cooled, Desmoquattro, fuel-injected, L-twin
engine produces 117 horsepower @ 8,750 rpm and is connected
to a close-ratio 6-speed gearbox
Other highlights of the Ducati Monster S4R included a lightweight
carbon fiber
front mudguard, side panels, radiator cover and belt covers.
The Monster S4R featured Brembo twin disc brakes with double
320 mm discs up front and a 245 mm disc at the rear.
