The Bimota 666 L.E. (the LE stands for Limited Edition) is a
track-only superbike which the Italian manufacturer unveiled
in 2003.
The Bimota 666 L.E. uses a Ducati-sourced L-twin engine which
produced 85.5 horsepower. The transmission is a six-speed unit
with a multi-disc dry clutch.
The Bimota 666 LE is based around a custom fabricated tubular
alloy frame. The swingarm is formed from aluminium and weighs
in at just 3.8 kgs.
The suspension components come courtesy of Ohlins. With inverted
43 mm forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. The suspension
is adjustable for preload, compression and rebound.
The Bimota 666 LE features Brembo brakes on both front and rear
wheels.
The fairings of the bike are made from carbon fiber.
Interestingly, the Bimota 666 LE was developed by NCR, another
Italian motorcycle manufacturer. And when Bimota hit financial
difficulties, NCR bought back the rights to the bike and began
producing it under the name NCR Millona.
