A GIF animation is like a traditional cartoon: it is just a series of images displayed one after another with timed delays. All animations are offered in the common 800x600 resolution. Dont worry if your screen is larger though, follow the steps below and all the animations look fine on any size monitor. Here's how you can set up an animated GIF background for your computer in 3 easy steps. Step 1. To set as a desktop background, right-click on the full size image which will appear in the new window and select save picture as... Then choose where you want to save the picture - somewhere where you can easily find it is best ('my pictures' is recommended). Step 2. Find the image where you have saved it on your computer - my pictures for example - and right-click the image and choose set as desktop background. Step 3. Once the image is on your computer as a background it may look stretched and the picture quality maybe poor. Don't worry, here's how to fix it. Simply right click the background and select properties then choose desktop and change position to center and click ok - this will center the image on your computer screen and show it in it's original 800x600 resolution. (Note you cannot right click on the animation and directly save it as a background like you would with a static image - doing this will only save that particular frame of the animation.) |
