A flywheel turner is a specialized tool designed to help turn the flywheel and rotate the engine during maintenance work which requires the crankshaft to be in a specific position. The flywheel turner can also be used to hold in place the flywheel or flexplate when torquing the flywheel or harmonic balancer bolts.

The springloaded design of the flywheel turner means that the tool fits onto most flywheels, and once attached the spring provides enough force that the tool remains in place even when let go.
