An
engine stand is a device used to securely hold an engine while it
is being examined, disassembled, or rebuilt. Most stands use a plate
with at least four holes or adjustable arms. To use one, an engine
is positioned next to the stand and bolted to it. It is important
to position the engine with the its center in the middle of the
engine stand's adapter plate. This ensures stability when the engine
is rotated on the stand.
