When
most people think of a chisel, they will be thinking about a bevel-edged
chisel - as they are one of the most common types of chisel in use
today.
Bevel-edged chisels are commonly used in wood working to create
neatly defined square or rectangular cuts, notches or holes in wood.
They are often used in conjunction with a hammer, especially when
making the initial cuts.
In order to work properly and provide a neat clean cut, bevel-edged
chisels should be regularly sharpened - using a sharpening stone
- and kept clean.
