An antifreeze tester is a device used to check the composition and condition of an antifreeze solution. Different types are available. Some measure the level of ethylene glycol in a solution; others only work with antifreeze based on propylene glycol. A type of tester called a refractometer works with all types of antifreeze, battery acid, and windscreen washer fluid.
