An
air blowgun is a tool used to blow off bits of dirt, swarf, solvent,
or other debris from parts or confined spaces. Air blowguns are
typically supplied with a safety tip or nozzle, and may often be
fitted with interchangeable nozzles (e.g.tapered, single-hole, and
multi-hole) and extensions of various lengths. Some are operated
by a finger trigger, others are of the palm type with a thumb trigger
control. Eye-protection should always be worn whenever an air blowgun
is used, and, as the noise level is usually high, ear protection
is also a good idea. Air blowguns should always be directed away
from the user and anyone else working nearby.
