In a rather extreme case of technology filtering down
from military applications to everyday vehicles. Ford
has revealed that the radar system equipped in the new
Ford Taurus is in fact developed from the very same radar
system found in the F22 Raptor - one of the most advanced
aircraft in the world.
The radar system, which has a detector to warn when you
are too close to the car in front, also has another detector
located within the rear bumper to help prevent rear-end
crashes, and warn drivers when they drift out of their
lanes, or if another vehicle is in their blind spots.
