The 9ff GT9 is a car built with one purpose in mind - that of
going as fast as possible. Most modern supercars and exotics
incorporate some degree of comfort and safety, the GT9 does
not. There are no airbags, no traction control and no electronic
stability control.
The 9ff GT9 is built on a highly modified Porsche 997 GT3 chassis
which is lengthened and the roof is lowered to reduce drag.
To reduce weight the body panels are formed from carbon
fibre and Kevlar.
Powering the 9ff GT9 is a mid-mounted 4.0 litre flat-6 engine
fitted with two turbochargers. To keep the incoming air cool
the intake manifold is plated with gold, an element which offers
excellent heat dissipation. The transmission to the rear wheels
is handled by a 6 speed manual gearbox.
In total a production run of 20 cars is planned. With each car
the buyer has the option to customise the interior to their
taste. The aim of the 9ff GT9 project is to officially claim
the title of "Worlds fastest production car."
