Mercedes-Benz tuners Carlsson, based in Merzig, Germany, created
the CM55 K in 2005 the car is based on the Mercedes - Benz
SLK 55.
With the addition of a Carlsson supercharged
power output of the SLK 55 is increased to an immense 480
bhp, and maximum torque climbs to 480 ft lbs at 2800 rpm.
Top speed rise to 196 mph and the 0-60 mph sprint take 4.1
seconds. Appropriate deceleration
Stopping power for the CM55 K is ensured by the use of high-performance
6-piston alloy calipers and internally ventilated, composite
discs measuring 380x32 mm at the front and 4-piston light-alloy
calipers and internally ventilated discs measuring 340x22
mm at the back.
The
body kit for the SLK 55 based Carlsson CM55 K consists of
a front spoiler with additional xenon fog lamps and brake
cooling ducts. Down the sides, aerodynamic side moldings with
small cooling ducts for the rear brakes are visible and a
rear-wheel cover is added to reduce air resistance. The kit
also features a rear valance with bottom wings, under-body
panels and a rear spoiler to increase downforce.
