The
LS 430 was updated for 2004 and included redesigned front and
rear bumpers, and adaptive projector headlamps (which tracked
the movement of the steering wheel), LED taillights, and new
wheel rims.
For the 2004 model year the transmission was upgraded to a six
speed unit. A reversing camera, Lexus Pre-Collision System (which
used millimeter-wavelength radar to predict crashes), and related
Dynamic Laser Cruise Control were new options. A power moonroof
and power rear sunshade, previously options, became standard.
The 2004 - 2006 Lexus LS430 designated the UCF30 II was rated
as the most reliable luxury sedan in the J.D. Power and Associates
Initial Quality Survey during its production. The car also recieved
Consumer Reports 'Best Car We Ever Tested' award in 2004
and 2005.
The Lexus LS430 was fully redesigned in 2007.
