Bufori is one of those odd little manufacturers which has somehow
managed to survive and prosper in an environment littered with
the carcasses of bankrupt, stillborn or struggling small volume
car makers.
Quite how it's managed this feat is a mystery. Although the
main advantages it has over the competition is a unique sense
of old-world style which is difficult to find from other makers,
and the fact it's one of the few low volume car producers to
be located in the far east - Malaysia to be exact (also home
of Lotus' parent company Proton).
The Bufori Geneva was named after the Geneva Motor Show where
it was unveiled in 2010. The Geneva model draws heavily on the
company's other offerings like the La
Joya and CS for styling
inspiration. Except whereas the La Joya and CS are more geared
towards sports and touring duties, the Geneva is an opulent
limousine.
Aside from the rather unpleasant moustache-like grille and triple
headlight arrangement which looks like an afterthought, the
Bufori Geneva is quite a nice looking vehicle. It would certainly
stand out from the myriad of BMWs, Audis and Mercs which litter
most executive parking spaces!
The interior is equipped with all the features which luxury
car buyers expect. The rear-hinged coach doors make for elegant
and easy entry and exit. The rear passengers are met with individual
fully adjustable lounge seating with integrated tables for comfort
and convenience. The rear center console can be customized with
a range of different amenities to suit the buyer. Some of the
unique features include a fine tea set with instant boiling
water and sink, an Espresso coffee maker or even an ice box.
An integrated cool box & mini bar for champagne and glasses,
a safe compartment for valuables or a cigar humidor are also
available!
A state-of-the-art and comprehensive multimedia system provides
high-definition surround sound and a choice of 1, 2 or 3 touch
screen monitors.
The Bufori Geneva is constructed using a combination of stainless
steel for the chassis and frame and carbon/Kevlar for the bodywork
and passenger compartment.
Powering the Bufori Geneva is a 6.1 litre V8 which comes in
naturally aspirated and supercharged flavors. The base model
produces 430 hp which the supercharged version pumps out 560
hp. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a adaptive automatic
transmission and limited slip differential.
