The bizarrely styled Spada Codatronca TS was developed by Italian
design house Spadaconcept, and is built by another Italian company,
Spadavetturesport. Although Spadavetturesport (SVS) was setup
by the same people who founded Spadaconcept so it's a little
confusing.
The design of the Spada Codatronca TS was influenced by the
styling of the 1965 Alfa Romeo TZ, it also featured a high centre
spine running to the rear of the car, the feature was called
the "Kamm tail coda tronca" design - hence the new
cars name.
The base for the Spada Codatronca TS is the Chevrolet Corvette.
Spadavetturesport perform the transformation and fit the Codatronca
TS with a 630 horsepower 7.0 litre V8 sourced from GM. This
engine also delivers 668 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm. The transmission
is handled by a close-ratio 6-speed manual gearbox.
A 3-mode traction control system helps keep the car on the road.
Although if you feel you're up to the challenge it can be knocked
off completely.
For drivers who want to hone their skills on the track, the
Codatronca is fitted with a data acquisition system that can
record 80 hours of telemetry across 40 different variables including;
steering angle, g-force meter, individual tire speed, lap timer
and gps tracker. Although if you had a car like this and were
obsessed with analyzing and correlating the steering angle and
the tire speed it should be legal to remove it from your possession.
The striking bodywork of the Spada Codatronca TS is modeled
after stealth aircraft and is built entirely from carbon fiber.
