The
Sonic7 from Six-River Racing is a kit car which features a triangulated
space frame chassis and fully adjustable suspension so you can
tune it to suit your needs. The Sonic7 is a Ford Focus based
kit with simple yet stylish bodywork that complements the company’s
popular Rocket kit by having similar lines but more practicality.
The Sonic7 is available with a hard top or soft top roof, a
choice of wings including the aero type, a roll bar and rear
window section and a full laminated windscreen with a GRP frame
are also optional.
The estimated build time for the Sonic7 is around 100 hours
for someone with limited mechanical knowledge and everyday tools.
Helping keep the build easy is the fact that there is no fabrication
or welding required.
Powered by a Ford Focus sourced four cylinder engine the lightweight
Sonic7 makes an impressive 235 horsepower per ton. Compare that
to the 156 hp per ton of the Lotus Elise and 187 hp per ton
of the Porsche Boxster and the 0-60 time of around 4 seconds
looks entirely believable.
Specifications and dimensions of the Sonic7:
- 5" ground clearance
- 60/40 front/rear weight distribution
- 2425mm (8' 0") wheelbase
- 3125mm (10' 3") overall length
- 1725mm (5' 8") width
- Fits drivers up to 6' 5" in height
- 2.4 turns lock-to-lock steering rack optional
