RCZ R Bimota
The Peugeot RCZ R Bimota is a specially tuned version of the sporty
little RCZ R which has been given a makeover and performance upgrade
courtesy of the Italian superbike manufacturer Bimota.
Befitting the motorcycle design input, the vehicle was unveiled at
the Motor Bike Expo in Verona, Italy.
As well as the RCZ R Bimota moniker, the car also wears the PB104
name, where 'PB' stands for Peugeot and Bimota, '1' for project number
one, and '04' for four wheels.
Painted in Bimota's striking red, white and green colors (except for
the black-painted double-bubble roof and pillars) and with the Bimota
logo featuring ahead of the rear wheel arches, the car is powered
by a tuned version of the turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder found
in the stock RCZ R.
Thanks to a remapped ECU, a new exhaust system and a new bypass valve
for the turbocharger, the Peugeot RCZ R Bimota puts out 304 hp. A
healthy increase over the 270 hp found in the standard car.
As well as the engine modifications, the Peugeot RCZ R Bimota also
features upgraded front brakes (4-piston calipers and 380mm discs),
and a 10 mm (1/2 inch) lower ride height.
On the inside, the rear seats have been deleted in favor of a storage
box that can take two motorcycle helmets. The front seats are trimmed
in leather and Alcantara, the steering and dashboard are also finished
in Alcantara and a Tom Tom infotainment system has been fitted, as
well as two GoPro cameras (one at the rear of the headlining and one
integrated in the front bumper).
