The Lexus SC 430 is a two-door, four-seat, convertible sports
car which was styled at Lexus' European Design and Development
Centre on the French Riviera.
The Lexus SC 430 is powered by a 4.3-litre V8 Variable Valve
(VVT-i) engine controlled
by a drive-by-wire system. The 282 horsepower generated by the
engine is capable of taking the SC 430 from rest to 60 mph in
an impressive 6.4 seconds.
The SC 430, like all Lexus models, is equipped with many electronic
gadgets and luxuries. Take the air conditioning, for example.
Say you get stuck in traffic. The SC 430 system can register
the drop in air quality and then automatically switch to re-circulating
cabin air until the situation outside improves. Also when the
roof is in place, sensors monitor the interior temperature to
keep the environment just as you like. Put the roof down, however,
and the SC 430 compensates by measuring the outside temperature
and sunshine strength. An automatic sound leveler adjusts the
audio players volume to compensate for ambient noise.
The Lexus SC 430 features a retractable aluminium hardtop, all-leather
interior, and 18 in alloy wheels. Standard luxury features of
the SC 430 include Espresso Walnut or Bird's Eye Maple wood
trim, a premium audio system and DVD-based navigation system.
