The Hyena was a project by the Italian coachbuilders Zagato
which was intended to prove they could be a manufacturer again.
The Zagato Hyena was based on the Lancia Delta Integrale platform,
but with a two-door coupe body.
Under the carbon
fiber and Kevlar rounded body of the Zagato Hyena lay the
same drivetrain as the Delta Integrale, a 2.0 litre turbocharged
four-cylinder which
developed 260 horsepower, mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox
driving all four wheels. This setup gave the Zagato Hyena a
top speed of 144 mph, and a 0-60 mph sprint time of around 5
seconds.
A production run of 100 Zagato Hyenas was originally planned
but the actual production run finished after 26 cars were constructed.
