The
Berlinette RS is a sports car manufactured by Hommell, a French
automobile manufacturer, founded in 1990 by Michel Hommell,
the owner of Échappement, a French car magazine. The original
prototype was introduced at the 1990 Paris Motor Show where
it was well recieved. In 1994 the pre-production version was
shown, and the Hommell Berlinette RS went into production shortly
after.
The 2 seat sports coupe was originally powered by a mid-mounted
2.0 litre Peugeot engine mated to a 6 speed gearbox, later a
more powerful Citroen engine was used. The Hommell Berlinette
RS featured a tubular steel chassis with 4-wheel independent
suspension.
