Sports Cars > Hennessey Venom GT2The original Hennessey Venom GT from 2010 showed just what was possible given a decent donor car, an twin-turbocharged LS9 V8, and lots and lots of clever engineering. With the Venom GT2 Hennessey have raised their own, already stratospheric, performance bar, considerably, and also made a few alterations to the car's exterior design. The Hennessey Venom GT2 is powered by a 7.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8 which produces a mind-blowing 1,500 + horsepower. In addition a seven-speed paddle-shift transmission appears in the options list. As well as the modifications to the drivetrain, Hennessey have also toyed with the Venom GT2's aerodynamics. The prominent double-bubble roof not only looks good, but it also helps accommodate tall drivers. At the front there's been some changes to the bumper, and a new set of LED headlights make the car look far less like the Lotus on which it's based. Fancy dihedral-opening doors round out the updates for the 2013 car. UPDATE: Hennessey have just revealed that the Venom GT2 is NOT a replacement for the Venom GT. Both cars will be sold alongside each other. The price for the 2014 Venom GT2 is a cool $1.25 million. The seven-speed transmission adds an unbelievable $165,000 to that number! --
