The
German-built Fuoss 01 track car has been five years in the making.
The single-seat Fuoss 01 is powered by a 40 horsepower, 400
cc Suzuki DOHC engine, mated to a five-speed sequential manual
gearbox driving the rear wheels. This setup gets the 300 kg
(661 lb) Fuoss 01 to a top speed of over 90 mph. Not fast compared
to conventional sports cars, but in a single seat open vehicle
it's fast enough.
Because of the lack of any weather protection all the switch
gear and controls are fully waterproofed as is the seat covering.
The high-quality GRP body which covers the tubular metal frame
serves two purposes, protection from dirt and debris, and aerodynamic
benefits. The body can be colored to suit the buyers tastes.
The Fuoss 01 features disc brakes both front and rear hidden
behind lightweight 14" OZ wheels with 195/45 tires. The
suspension system comprises of a double wishbone setup up front
with adjustable Ohlins shocks. At the rear is a fully adjustable
Öhlins central shock.
Each year Fuoss intends to build only 10 vehicles to ensure
exclusivity.
