The
British supercar which was to be the Freestream
T1 became the Caparo T1 after automotive consultancy firm
Caparo bought the Freestream T1 project.
The T1 promises F1 handling for the road |

The two ex-Mclaren engineers, whose previous projects included
the Mclaren F1 and Mercedes
Mclaren SLR, and started the T1 project have been kept on
as design and engineering directors. So there isn't much difference
to the actual car. Other than the name.
The Caparo T1 is an ultra-lightweight super which has a greater
power-to-weight ratio than the 1000 bhp Bugatti Veyron, two
times greater in fact. The first production Caparo T1 was unveiled
at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte-Carlo (April 20th - 23rd 2006)
before an audience of 450 VIP's, including royalty.
The Caparo T1 weighs in under 500kg is a tandem two-seater which
is powered by a mid-mounted supercharged V8 developing approximately
500 bhp. This 1000bhp-per-tonne power-to-weight ratio is the
Caparo T1's ultimate weapon. A 0-60 run of just 2.5 seconds
is expected, and with its race car technology and extensive
wind tunnel testing the T1 can generate up to 3G of cornering
and braking force.

Review by: Mark
I saw the Caparo T1 in Monaco and it's fantastic! A work of
art and certainly the best car at the show. I spoke to Sean
Butcher and the Caparo director who gave me the heads up on
the T1 and it's ability. This thing is going to blow every supercar
away. If anyone needs further details just visit their website
or give them a call.
