AC
Aceca - An AC Ace with a proper roof, but it comes at a price.
And that price is style.
The AC
Ace convertible with which the Aceca shares a platform with was
hardly the most beautiful car on the road. But the bulky lines of
the Aceca are pretty hard to swallow. The tall roofline did however
make for extra head-room for the rear seat passengers.
The primary competitor for the AC Aceca was the Maserati 3200 GT.
History has shown that the Maserati won that competition hands down.
Powering the Aceca was was a Ford-sourced engine. Both a 3.5 litre
and a 5.0 litre supercharged version was available.
The chassis of the AC Aceca was made in South Africa, while the bodies
were put together in Coventry, England.
