AC
Ace - Iconic '60s name revived for '90s flop
The AC Ace which was introduced in 1999 revived a name dropped by
AC in 1962 - when the AC Cobra arrived. The modern AC Ace shares only
one feature with the original car, a convertible top, everything else
is completely new.
The body of the AC Ace was primarily formed from aluminium and stainless
steel with certain components constructed from carbon
fiber.
The AC Ace was offered with two different engine options, a 305 hp
Ford V8 'Quad Cam', or a 5.0 litre supercharged V8 engine developing
350 horsepower. Power was transferred to the rear wheels through a
5-speed Borg Warner T50D transmission. The AC Ace had luxury features
such as air conditioning, a full leather interior, electric seats,
electric mirrors and GPS navigation.
