There were only 448 Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina's produced.
The limited edition production was to mark 70 years of the Pininfarina
styling house.
The car was introduced to the world at the 2000 Paris Motor
Show.
Unlike a conventional, and far more practical, convertible,
the Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina was a genuine roadster.
Meaning that aside from the windscreen there was no real protection
from the elements. A soft top was provided for emergencys, but
it wasn't really meant for regular use, and Ferrari themselves
advised owners not to exceed 70 mph when the top was fitted.
