The
Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat was originally concieved as a pure
sports bike. However in reality it has made its name as an acomplished
sports touring machine, partly due to the fact the design was
superseded by far more advanced bikes like the YZF-R6.
The engine and frame of the Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat was derived
from its predeccessor, the FZR600R. The chassis is a steel frame
unit coupled with an aluminum swingarm, while the engine is
an extensivley redesigned 599 cc, inline 4-cylinder unit developing
100 horsepower.
