The Triumph Tiger 955i was a large, heavy trail-orientated motorcycle
built between 2001 and 2006. It has since been superceded by
the Tiger 1050.
The Triumph Tiger 955i is suited towards taller riders due to
its size. The added space its larger frame provides makes the
bike suitable for touring, and there is plenty of space for
hard luggage.
Despite its decent ground clearance and off-road appearance,
the Triumph Tiger 955i works best on the road rather than off
it. It can cope with trails quite nicely however.
Powering the Triumph Tiger 955i is a 955cc triple which produces
a healthy 105 hp and 67 lb-ft of torque, allowing for easy cruising
and a decent top end.
In 2004 the Triumph Tiger 955i was treated to a bit of a makeover,
and recieved new cast alloy wheels, a redesigned swing arm and
panniers. Heated grips and a center stand became standard fitment.
The Triumph Tiger 955i has proved to be a fairly reliable machine
with no major weaknesses or flaws reported.
