The Bimota DB1 was an Italian sports bike powered by a 750cc
Ducati V-twin engine mounted in a Chrome-Molybdenum steel frame.
The engine of the Bimota DB1 is a stressed member, although
you can't see it becase it is almost entirely covered by the
bodywork.
The Bimota DB1 was manufactured in both a race and a road version.
Just about the only visible difference between the two was a
headlight up front and a licence plate mount at the rear on
the road bike. For the road version of the DB1 the engine's
power delivery was also a little less aggressive.
The Bimota DB1 was a suprisingly small bike, it was designed
to ideally fit riders of 5ft 6 inches, although the cutouts
in the fuel tank do accomodate slightly taller riders. |
