The Aprilia RS50 is a little starter bike which has the styling
of a GP bike. The RS50's bodywork has been honed in the wind
tunnel, while its technology achieves a level never seen before
in the 50cc displacement category.
The compact two-stroke, single-cylinder engine of the Aprilia
RS50 complies with European emissions regulations thanks to
a catalytic converter, and also features a balance shaft for
smoother running.
The Aprilia
RS50 was the first "mass produced" 50cc bike to be
equipped with a die-cast aluminium frame. This unit is a stiff-twin
spar design which is complimented by disc brakes both front
and rear which easily bring the super-light machine to a halt.
It might not be big or powerful, but the Aprilia RS50 is a well-engineered
and put together machine which is a hoot to ride in its own
small way.
