> Aprilia ETV 1000 Caponord
Introduction
The Aprilia ETV 1000 CAPONORD was the first trail bike in the world
to be fitted with a variable geometry aluminium perimeter frame. The
frame frame is manufactured from extruded box section aluminium alloy
profiles welded to aluminium-magnesium castings. The rear swingarm
is also in aluminium-magnesium alloy and features a cold cast central
section, extruded arms and forged terminals.
The engine of the Aprilia ETV 1000 Caponord is derived from the unit
that powers the racing RSV, but has been thoroughly modified for touring
use.
The ETV 1000 CAPONORD's suspension system is similar to that used
on big racing enduros, but has been modified to cope with a variety
of surfaces.
