Ordered to be built by the Roman Emperor Hadrian in 122 AD during
the Roman Occupation of Great Britan, Hadrian's wall ran from
the east to west coast along the Scottish/English border.
It was designed to repel the Scottish clans which Rome never
conquered. Today many parts of the wall are visible, not only
that, but near the wall are a host of Roman forts, museums and
educational attractions. |
