Electronic
Stability Control (ESC)
Electronic
Stability Control (ESC) is asystem designed to improve a vehicle's
handling and maintain control of the vehicle, e.g., during
fast turns, to avoid spinouts and to prevent roll-overs. Electronic
stability control works whether or not the brakes are applied.
Sensors automatically apply individual brakes to prevent a
sideways skid. Some ESC systems also cut back on the throttle,
slowing the engine.
