Cabriolet
A
cabriolet, in general, is a convertible that has side windows.
The term has had different meanings at different times and
in different places. In Europe in the 1920s and ’30s, a cabriolet
was an open car with two doors, four seats, and fold-down
top, typically derived from a sedan. Such a vehicle in the
UK was called a drop-head coupe, the British cabriolet being
a four-door open-top car. The US equivalent of a European
cabriolet was convertible coupe. Today the term cabriolet
ts generally taken to mean any open-top cars derived from
a sedan or coupe.
