Anti-Seize
Compound
An anti-seize compound is any substance which is applied to
nut or bolts prior to their installation which helps to prevent
them seizing. Anti-seize compounds are often used on fasteners
which are subjected to extremely high temperatures - like
the bolts on an exhaust manifold.
