Active
safety is an automotive term which describes any systems or
engineering which takes an active role in helping to avoid
collisions or reducing the overall damage. Active safety systems
could include items like night vision, pedestrian recognition
technology, ABS brakes, traction
control, lane departure warning systems, etc.
The opposite of active safety is passive safety.
