GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo
The Volkswagen GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo is a virtual
race car concept developed by VW for gamers. Specifically gamers playing
Gran Turismo 6 on Playstation 3.
The Volkswagen GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo is loosely based
on the Volkswagen Golf GTI. But the production car and the virtual
concept share little to no technology.
The GTI Supersport concept is powered by a 503 horsepower VR6 turbocharged
engine coupled to a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox and a 4MOTION
all-wheel drive system. This drivetrain is capable of launching the
concept from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds. Top speed is
of the car is 186 mph.
The basic shape of the body is still reminiscent of GTI ancestors
but from every angle the concept exudes racing character. Proportions
and body surfaces have been optimized for an extremely low centre
of gravity and widespread use of carbon elements gives the new digital
supercar an impressive power-to-weight ratio of only 2.5 kg per horsepower.
The Volkswagen GTI Supersport can be downloaded by GT6 players in
either "Reflex Silver", "Gran Turismo Red", "Lapiz
Blue" or "Oryx White".
